History of The Building
Believed to be the oldest pub or coaching inn in the town, dating from 1595, The Grapes Inn continued to trade as a public house alongside The Grapes Pub until late 1999. Originally the building was classed as an open hall house with gables added in the 16th century when the property was given an upper floor. It still features the original plank door with moulded mountings and iron strap hinges.
The ambience of the building very much remains in the Tudor era with original beams, low ceilings, door frames and our very own resident ghost. The finest Indian Cuisine and excellent customer service however, live very much in the present!
Chipping Sodbury is a popular destination for shoppers and visitors alike. It retains the feel of a village and many local families have remained here for hundreds of years. Customer Satisfaction
At Tudor Raj quality is never compromised in any way. The actual time to cook food may vary, especially during busy times. We do not serve pre-cooked food and only use fresh ingredients and the finest herbs and spices. So we requeste our customers to allow us extra time for cooking.
If you are dissatisfied with any of our dishes please inform us immediately so that we can deal with your complaint. The Management welcomes your opinion. Any Comments should be made to a member of staff without hesitation.
